جلد 19 از گروه III (فیزیک کریستال و حالت جامد) به خواص مغناطیسی فلزات، آلیاژها و ترکیبات فلزی می پردازد. حجم اطلاعات موجود در این زمینه به قدری قابل توجه است که جلد III/19 باید به چند جلد فرعی تقسیم می شد. زیر جلدهای III/19a تا III/19f خواص مغناطیسی ذاتی را بررسی می‌کنند، یعنی خواصی که فقط به ترکیب شیمیایی و ساختار کریستالی بستگی دارند. تاکنون، زیرجلدهای III/19a، III/19b، III/19c، III/19d2، III/19e1 و III/19e2 ظاهر شده‌اند. Volume 19 of Group III (Crystal and Solid State Physics) deals with the magnetic properties of metals, alloys and metallic compounds. The amount of information available in this field is so substantial that volume III/19 had to be split into several subvolumes. Subvolumes III/19a through III/19f treat the intrinsic magnetic properties, i.e. those properties which depend only on the chemical composition and the crystal structure. So far, subvolumes III/19a, III/19b, III/19c, III/19d2, III/19e1, and III/19e2 have appeared; III/19d1 will follow shortly. Subvolume III/19f covers the magnetic properties of actinide elements and their compounds. The present part 1 is concerned with the actinide elements and their compounds with 3d, 4d and 5d-elements. Part 2 (compounds with main group elements), which is due in the near future, also contains a comprehensive index of substances for volumes III/19a ... III/19f. Data on the properties that depend on the preparation of the samples measured, as for instance, thin films, amorphous alloys or the magnetic alloys used in technical applications, are compiled in the last subvolumes of III/19, viz. III/19g, III/19h and III/19i, of which III/19g and III/19h have already been published.
